Fleetwood Mac started in 1967, founded in London. The founders included Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, and Jeremy Spencer. However, by 1975, Fleetwood was the only member of this founding trio that was still around. In the time between their founding and their first widely recognized album, they added bass guitarist John McVie, vocalist Christine Perfect (later McVie), and lastly Americans Lindsey Buckingham (guitar) and Stevie Nicks (vocalist). This would be their lineup for the release of some of the most influential albums of all time.
In 1975, they released their self-titled album Fleetwood Mac. Among others, this included songs such as Landslide and Rhiannon. They followed this up with Rumours, which is by far their most successful album. Popular songs from Rumours include Dreams and Go Your Own Way. The album was heavily inspired by the tension between the band members caused by relationships between their members. Other notable albums released by the band include Mirage, Tusk, and Greatest Hits (which is a showcase of their most popular music over the years.)
