This year, my college workload is heavier than ever so I won't have time to pick what is the best course of action for a given week. So, my goal is to make playoffs in 2 out of the 3 leagues that I'm in, which shows a degree of consistency. Both of my teams have drafted low-risk players, which should equate to a good year, but anything is possible. Of the players on my first team, the biggest risk factor is with Michael Thomas, who was formerly a top 5 WR in the league but fell off a cliff after the retirement of Drew Brees. As well, there is just a given risk with taking anyone 1st in a draft, so Justin Jefferson and my other teams success is tied. As well, I managed to draft a lot of grade A spot players as well. Miles Sanders as a RB2 gives depth to my lineup, and this is mirrored by Aaron Jones in the 2nd league.
Potential issues stem from not having full time to invest into this hobby. In order to stay updated and have the best chance of winning, I need to do a couple things. First, I have to check the waiver wire every Tuesday (probably during someone's class) and see if there are any players I would like to pick up. Second, I need to wake up fairly early on Sunday's to ensure I'm not starting a player that is either in a bye week or injured. The latter is the main issue, because many players are game-time decisions. The silver lining to these issues is that team maintenance only occurs once a week, as opposed to Fantasy Basketball or Baseball, where maintenance is DAILY. Things could always be worse, and I am excited for the 2023-24 NFL Season.
